TROY, N.Y. — The Mechanicville girls' varsity basketball team is moving on to the 2026 NYSPHSAA Class B girls' basketball state semifinals. Last Monday, the Red Raiders punched their ticket to the regional title game versus Section 7's Saranac. Coming off a Section 2 Class B championship victory over Corinth, Mechanicville convincingly defeated the Spartans on Saturday morning at Hudson Valley Community College, winning 70-42. The Red Raiders got things started with a 21-6 advantage after the first quarter and then took a 36-20 lead into the halftime break.
