Online Toolkit: Stand up for kids today!

AQE_logo

Hi Ashley,

Today — the day of the New York State budget deadline — we're marching alongside families and children to Governor Hochul's office in New York City to demand that she prioritize our kids over millionaires and billionaires in the state budget.

Governor Hochul is pushing to make cuts to public education and healthcare, all while protecting the interests of millionaires and corporations. Fortunately, the Senate and Assembly are pushing back, not only rejecting the Governor's cuts to schools, but by proposing a modest tax hike on the ultra wealthy and corporations that would generate revenue we can invest in our schools, housing, and families.

We need Senate and Assembly leadership, Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Speaker Carl Heastie, to hold the line, and fight for an enacted budget that raises revenue while rejecting Hochul's cuts to schools and investing in our child care workforce.

Support the children and families marching in New York City today by using the toolkit below to take action online.

Action 1

Email State Leaders

Click below to send an email to the main budget negotiators — Governor Hochul, Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Speaker Carl Heastie — urging them to ensure the final budget prioritizes New York's children and families now.

Action 2

Call the Senate Majority Leader & Speaker

We are calling our State Leaders urging them to stand firm in their protection of school funding against the Governor's cuts AND to support a permanent investment of at least $500 million in the child care workforce.
