Hi Ashley,
We have an exciting update: there is a new location for our Champions of Education celebration on November 14! We are pleased to announce that our event will now be held at the DCTV Firehouse in New York City, from 6:30 to 9:30.
DCTV Firehouse is New York City's preeminent community of storytellers, supporting filmmakers who want to tell stories that matter to them, and stories that support social change. We were last at their vibrant community space at a landmark former firehouse nearly six years ago, and it has always been one of our favorite venues.
Even better, our move to DCTV will allow us to accommodate more guests — so if you already have purchased your own tickets, be sure to share the information with a friend and bring them along. We're grateful for this opportunity to return!
The Champions of Education event is our annual celebration of our achievements together, and a chance to recognize some of the individuals that have gone above and beyond in their dedication to ensuring that all students have access to a quality education.
This year, we are proud to recognize the following notable individuals for their contributions to this fight:
Senator Shelley Mayer
Chair of the New York State Senate Education Committee
Speaker Adrienne Adams and Education Chair Rita Joseph
New York City Council
Norm Fruchter
Education equity champion & co-founder of the Campaign for Fiscal Equity
Adriana Alicea, Tracy Jordan and Tajh Sutton
New York City parents & education advocates
