Invitation: Celebrate Education Equality

Join us October 5 in NYC
AQE_logo

Hello Ashley,

This September marked a significant milestone for public education: all New York schools began the academic year fully funded. While this formula has sought to address funding inequities by allocating extra resources to high-need districts, challenges remain due to shifting disparities among school districts. As such, we celebrate this victory and acknowledge the ongoing work ahead!

Please join us on Thursday, October 5, from 5:30 to 8:30pm ET at the Manny Cantor Center as we come together to commemorate this momentous win. It's an opportunity to honor those who have tirelessly championed New York's students and played a vital role in our collective advancement.

With distinguished co-chairs leading the way, our event will pay tribute to individuals whose outstanding contributions have greatly impacted New York's educational landscape.

Our Honorees

  • Congressman Jamaal Bowman, New York's 16th Congressional District
  • Dr. Marian Bott, Education Finance Specialist at the NYS League of Women Voters
  • Dr. John H. Jackson, President of the Schott Foundation & Cassie Schwerner, Executive Director of the Morningside Center
  • Kimberly Tyre, New York City Parent

Our Co-Chairs

  • Thomas P. DiNapoli, New York State Comptroller
  • Christine Marinoni, Education Activist & Cynthia Nixon, Actor and Activist
  • Senator Robert Jackson, New York's 31st State Senate District
  • Senator Lea Webb, New York's 52nd State Senate District

Join us in celebrating these remarkable champions of social justice and more, as we gather to honor this historic achievement and look forward to the lasting transformation we're committed to creating together!

In solidarity,
