Hello Ashley,   Last week, we gathered on the steps of New York City Hall to celebrate the release of a major new roadmap from the Empire State Campaign for Child Care. This statewide coalition of parents, child care educators, and advocates is working to build high-quality, universal child care for every New Yorker. Shanita Bowen (left), Chief Operating Officer of ECE on the Move, a network of early childhood educators advocating for New York’s child care workforce, and Marina Marcou-O’Malley (right), Co-Executive Director of AQE, speaking at last week’s rally about the new statewide roadmap for universal child care. The new roadmap urges state leaders to: Provide permanent support for the child care workforce Invest enough in the Child Care Assistance Program (CCAP) to clear waitlists and ensure all eligible families can access CCAP during the transition to universal care Launch two “bridge” projects that move New York closer to truly universal, statewide child care As New York City prepares for a new mayoral administration and the state prepares for a new budget cycle, it’s important that our leaders in the legislature hear from us. Universal child care is something that families across the state want and need.   Add your name to show our state representatives that NYS Child Care for All is the path forward.
