Capital Region Christmas Tree farms donate 150 trees for Trees for Troops program

BALLSTON SPA, N.Y. — For more than 20 years now, several local Christmas Tree farms in the Capital Region have been joining together to provide trees for the national Trees For Troops program, which sends trees to military bases around the country to support troops and military families during the holiday season. Since its inception, the program has delivered 326,273 trees, according to the Christmas Spirit Foundation website, with last year’s Trees for Troops providing 16,629 trees from 51 different locations across the nation and delivering them to 93 bases and 5 branches of service, plus one National Guard Center.
