Kick off today! 7 Days of Action

AQE_logo

Hi Ashley,

We have just ONE WEEK until the New York State budget deadline — one week to make sure the final budget does right by our students. To make the most of the next seven days, today we're kicking off a week of actions to demand state leaders protect students, not billionaires in the state budget.

Each day until the New York State budget is passed, we will be emailing you about a different action you can take to put pressure on our elected officials — actions like making a phone call, sending a letter, sharing your story on social media or joining us to text.

The stakes for our students have never been higher than they are right now. The decisions that New York's leaders make over the next week will spell the difference between historic improvement in our schools, or disaster. We need all hands on deck to make sure the Senate Majority Leader and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie do right by our students.

DAY ONE

Option 1: Rapid response today at 4 PM

For our kick-off action, join us tonight at 4 PM, as we collectively text constituents around the state urging them to call our top elected leaders: Senate Majority Leader Andrea Stewart-Cousins and Assembly Speaker Carl Heastie.

Sign up for tonight's rapid response action

Tonight at 4 PM on Zoom (details to join will be sent after registration)

If you aren't able to join us at 4 PM for the rapid response, you can participate in the Invest in Our New York social media action below!

Option 2: Invest In Our New York social media day of action

Post at least 3 posts from our social media kit and amplifying the posts of others under the hashtags #InvestInOurNY and #TaxtheRich. We’re looking for posts on Twitter, Instagram and Facebook throughout the day. You can also schedule posts in advance!

You can find sample Tweets and posts, as well as graphics and videos, at the toolkit linked below.

Watch for tomorrow's email with our next way to take action. You can sign up for updates on the Week of Action here.
